Research Focus
Adipose tissue is a complex, essential, and highly active metabolic and endocrine organ. Precise regulation of its function prevents development of various disorders like obesity, insulin resistance, diabetes and cardiovascular disorders.
My research interest is to assess the role of genetic polymorphisms in different adipokines and its contribution in progression of coronary artery disease.
This will help in understanding the pathophysiology of the disease process at molecular level and may help in establishing a new rational of treatment and precautions taken by the identified high risk patients reducing the treatment cost and surgical complications.
